Out of inspiration - help?

No Inspiration


Soon I'll have to mentor a group of 6-9 year old kids. Sadly I ran out of inspiration. I don't know what to do with them mainly because of the restrictions. I can't do anything graphic (etching, monotype, ...), I can't do anything with clay or papier-maché. I have to draw something with them, but they can't draw anything from life, since they already did that too many times this year.

If anyone comes up with something nice to do with these kids, I'd love to hear it. I can't find a fun topic.

I am desperate.

On another note, I'll have a few free days next week. Commission slots are open.

Hmmm... ik zie waar je probleem zit. Wat denk je van gekleurd zand - dat ze met laagjes met krijt gekleurd zand in een potje werken? Of werkjes met gekrulde papierrepen die je op karton kleeft? Valt veel met te doen...

Sorry als het allemaal zo cryptisch lijkt; ik probeer me alleen te herinneren wat wij in het lagere tijdens de knutselles deden - misschien dat ik straks wat fotos kan doorsturen, verrassend veel uit die tijd lijkt het immers overleefd te hebben...

Here's a cool activity we did in our class as a gift to a staff member,

but basically, we got one picture, cut that up into squares and distributed it to everyone, who will each try to draw what was in the the square any way they want.
Then we resemble everything to the full picture.

Just watch out for organization for this one, numbers and things help put it back together again,. =3=

Hmm, the first thing that comes into my mind are fairy tales.. How about this topic?
I think that children between six and nine years know many fairy tales and I also know that this may sound "childish" to them. But they have so much fantasy and imagination.

I did animals, colors and skies. I was thinking about drawing some fishes with wasco - and color over it with blue ecoline, that way the children have fishes in an aquarium. What do you think?

Some are too young for that, and others might become angry when they dislike certain features. I tried it, but it didn't work that well. That ofcourse differs from class to class, but the class I have now wouldn't be too good at it.
